Megan Fox and the Boy With the Rose

First there was this heartbroken boy…

Wow, the face on that disappointed child. I would have given Megan a rose, too. That is if I had one and was in her vicinity at the same time. You could write her off as a self-centered bitch, but then…

… then it’s all AAAAWH. How sweet. And we love her again! It’s drama. There’s a setup, a low point, a turnaround, and a happy ending!

National Martini Day

Maybe it is because my summer holiday has started that I tend to appreciate initiatives like this, from men.style.com: National Martini Day:

It's time to embrace the stuff, today in particular: National Martini Day. (Well, sources disagree on the exact date, but every day, in our opinion, deserves to be.)

People I Met On Tuesday 16.06.09 - a set on Flickr

DSC_6036

I took my photo challenge seriously and started photographing people I met. I asked nicely first, of course. A lot of them agreed to having their portrait taken. Here they are:

I’m thankful for this challenge. It has taught me to be more aware of what I am doing with my camera in hand. Settings, light, composition. A lot of photos could not be included in this set because they were simply too blurry. That is something I have to work on.

Furthermore, I have decided to extend this challenge and to make it a kind of personal photo project. What if I did something like this every three months: Picked a random Tuesday and just documented every person that crossed my path that day. A lot of them would appear more than once, but that’s ok.

Five Different Types of Laughter

Apparently there isn’t just one type of laughter. When you think about it, this is the kind of thing one actually knew all along, but never really thought about.

Parents don't tend to put as much thought into what their child's laugh might mean, unless it's so diabolical that it clearly indicates an attack on another sibling.

Diabolical childs’ laugh? Is that one of the five types?

Bikini Kill

Oh yes, more great punk music. This great and strange video of maoist girls dancing revolutionary ballet features the song “Rebel Girl” by Bikini Kill.

Bikini Kill's song "Rebel Girl" is number 455 in Blender's ranking The 500 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born

And bonus question: What is the link between this one and my recently posted punk video, “Bull in the Heather”, by Sonic Youth?

10 Shots, 10 Portraits, 1 Focal Length: It’s a challenge I feel I’m up to

There’s this photo challenge over at http://digital-photography-school.com that I feel like participating in. It goes simply like this:

With a single focal length photograph ten people, using only a single shot for each, then sharing it with the site.

I like it, and I will start in a minute or two. I like portraits. So wait for it. It will be beautiful.

Not so “Youth” but still pretty “Sonic”

It must have some years ago that Sonic Youth were actually youth, but then again, that could be said about me as well.

someone, somewhere, believed that Moore's longtime band, Sonic Youth, might be the next big thing
